The New Experience

When Mustang Panther Stadium (MPS) opens, fans, students, and community members will have a new game day experience as part of a stadium renovation.

Our school district is rich in tradition and excellence, so as part of the stadium renovation, we will honor the past while building for the future. The architecture of the redesigned Mustang-Panther Stadium evokes a feeling of nostalgia with its brick exterior and high archways.

What's coming?

Through the MPS renovations, fans can expect:

  • Improved Accessibility

  • Increased Safety

  • New Home Side

    • Concession Stands

    • Restrooms

    • Spirit Shops

  • GCISD Hall of Honor

  • New Press Box

  • Renovated Scoreboard

This is an exciting time for our community and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the new Mustang Panther Stadium!

Background

MPS dates back to 1969. Over time, with age and wear and tear, the stadium received minor repairs and renovations. In May 2016, voters approved the GCISD bond proposal, which allocates $6.78 million to cover stadium projects. These projects include concrete repairs and security upgrades. Spalling concrete can be found throughout the stadium. Security upgrades include installing and replacing surveillance cameras at the stadium.

Tax Increment Financing

The remainder of the renovations will be completed using funds the district received through a $26 million Tax Increment Financing (TIF) payout resulting from the 1996 TIF agreement with the City of Grapevine to bring Grapevine Mills Mall to the area. Approved by the GCISD Board of Trustees, and the Grapevine City Council, the funds will be used by the district on renovations to Mustang-Panther Stadium, joint use educational facilities, and the joint fiber project with the City of Grapevine.

State rules require that these funds be used for projects that benefit the designated zone—in this instance, inside the City of Grapevine.
